Message from our President

You’ve earned your degree. That is a huge accomplishment and, hopefully, a milestone that you can draw upon when you encounter new challenges from this point forward.

One of my favorite quotes is from Aristotle: “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.”  I’m sure each and every one of you had a moment, or several, where you encountered challenges during your educational journey.  I recognize the hurdles you jumped and walls you broke through likely tested your drive and your dedication to complete your degree.  This is your time to celebrate—because you persevered!  The power of your achievement will, hopefully, inspire those who come after you—family members, friends, and acquaintances—it’s truly amazing how your accomplishment can be an inspiration and motivate others to follow in your footsteps.

Congratulations, JIU Class of 2012! On behalf of all of the faculty and staff at Jones International University, I commend your efforts.  Enjoy the “fruits” of your labor and best wishes in your future endeavors.

Be Part of YOUR Ceremony. Share the Power of Perseverance.

Graduation is a celebration of your achievements. You’ve worked hard, put in long hours and made sacrifices. We want you to be part of your online ceremony. The graduation theme this year is the Power of Perseverance. Upload a short video piece that speaks to your personal experience, how you have persevered through obstacles big and small, and what you have achieved because of this perseverance. Your video contribution will help make this year’s ceremony more impactful for you and your classmates.

Remember to upload a photo and complete your graduate profile as well. We prefer headshots—professional if possible. Your photo will appear on-screen during the ceremony and on your yearbook profile.

Graduates who fully complete their profile and upload a photo will be entered to win an iPad2. Graduates who submit a video will be entered in a separate drawing for an iPad2. Submit everything and you’ll have two chances to win! It’s a win-win, as we reward you for your perseverance.
